Manufacturing Engineer who either has a manufacturing or engineering qualification is required for the Electric Vehicle / EV Process Development Team at a well-established manufacturer based in Leyland, Lancashire, North West England.

SALARY :circa. 35,000 pro rata

LOCATION :Leyland, Lancashire, North West England

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Manufacturing Engineer who either has a manufacturing or engineering qualification.

Working as the Manufacturing Engineer you will be part of the development of production processes to enable the manufacture of the next generation of commercial vehicles to meet future requirements including the transition to electric powertrains.

As the Manufacturing Engineer you will work within a world-class Process Development Team, responsible for process design and testing for new products at the UK’s market-leading commercial vehicle manufacturer.

DUTIES

Your duties as the Manufacturing Engineer include:

  • Support process design for EV introduction
  • Identification and implementation of Process improvement opportunities
  • Liaise with key stake holders to establish interim processes and minimise disruption to production and communicate to business.
  • Work with suppliers to ensure on time delivery of equipment
  • Facilitate process change reviews with all key stakeholders
  • Identification and management of project risks
  • Process analysis via PFMEA methodology

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

  • Previous experience within Manufacturing Engineering desirable
  • Knowledge of Battery Electric Vehicle operating and control systems desirable
  • Capable to multi-task efficiently and effectively whilst working to fixed and tight deadlines is essential
  • Good communication, interpersonal, planning, and organisational skills, with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of the company and external suppliers
  • Competent PC user, with a sound working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages and Manufacturing Execution Systems
  • AutoCAD experience
  • Engineering/Manufacturing related qualification essential
  • Six Sigma training preferred
