Contract :Permanent

Hours : Monday to Friday/ 37.5 hours per week

Salary :£26,400 per annum (this includes a £3,000 car allowance)

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Carer Recruitment Officer to join our team at Fostering Solutions North West. The focus of the role is to raise awareness of fostering across the local community to help generate and nurture enquiries. You will be responsible for the initial stages of our foster carer recruitment and continue to keep in close contact with our applicants through to their fostering panel and beyond. You do not need experience in fostering or recruiting foster carers, but you do need a passion for helping the lives of children and young people.

Our highly skilled and dedicated fostering community supports Local Authorities by providing short or long-term foster placements for thousands of vulnerable children and teenagers throughout the UK. it is perhaps not surprising that more people choose to foster with our fostering agencies than any other fostering provider in the UK.

About the Role

We are looking for a Carer Recruitment Officer to help grow our family of foster carers. You will source and encourage enquiries through local engagement across the North West, undertake initial visits in the homes of our applicants and accurately record applicant information on our database.

The focus of the role is to raise awareness of fostering across local communities to help generate and nurture enquiries, keeping our database up to date. The role requires excellent time management, coordination and strong IT skills.

You will be comfortable engaging with the public and existing foster carers, attending events across the North West to raise awareness of fostering to help exceed the local recruitment target. You will be creating opportunities to engage with existing foster carers to promote ‘word of mouth/carer referral’ recommendations. You will also collate evidence of local recruitment activity and carer referral activity analysing your success in this and the subsequent outcomes to inform future strategy.

You will maintain contact with potential foster carers through the journey from enquiry to approval, sensitively gathering information from prospective foster carers at the early stages and providing information about the fostering task. You will then maintain regular contact and support the initial training and assessment process undertaken by your social work colleagues. You will work predominantly from home, managing the database of potential carers, and keeping colleagues and management updated with relevant information and weekly reporting.

Who are we looking for?

Evidence in providing great customer experience/service or having worked in recruitment would be an advantage however more important are strong communication skills, and a friendly and flexible approach which will be beneficial in enabling you to build rapport with members of the public, current and potential foster carers.
