Axcis Education has an excellent opportunity available for a teaching assistant in the Wigan area. Working in a large mainstream secondary school the role would involve supporting students with challenging behaviour, who are at risk of exclusion.This is a full time role working from 8:30 – 15:30 Monday - Friday in an ongoing capacity. If successful you will be working with key stage 3 and 4 children, providing support for the teacher and assisting children with special educational requirements. As a teaching assistant you will be expected to work 1:1 to help with daily activities and routines. This class room based teaching role will support children within their classroom environment in a mainstream secondary school. This is a fantastic and rewarding opportunity to help support pupils who need extra guidance. This support role is based within a well resourced mainstream secondary school providing general support to students with challenging behaviour, helping them reach their full potential. Whilst previous experience working with children who display challenging behaviour is beneficial, the desire to make a difference to these students’ lives is invaluable. Applicants must be confident and follow procedures put in place to de-escalate different situations. You will be expected to promote positive behaviour and encourage pupils to manage their emotions and friendships.
