English Teacher with Lead Responsibility

About the roleWe require an experienced and qualified teacher who has the ability to make a significant contribution to our school. This role is based in our Secondary Site, teaching classes aged between 11 and 19, but we are happy to accept applications from candidates with QTS status, whether their experience is in Primary or Secondary Teaching. We are particularly looking for candidates with the experience to take on responisbility for Literacy in the whole School. You will take a creative approach to teaching pupils according to their educational needs, ensuring delivery of the school curriculum in a way that maximises pupils’ achievement and ability to develop. The pupils may display some challenging behaviour due to their different needs, so staff are required to have experience. Within this role, you will teach pupils in a fun and engaging way. You will also work with the support staff within the classroom to ensure that each pupil is getting the support they require, but also to ensure the smooth running of sessions and allow each pupil to have a positive learning environment. You will provide feedback to SLT, parents and carers.For this role, you should:Have previous experience teaching in an SEN school or extensive experience working with pupils with complex additional needs.Have experience teaching and be able to plan fun and engaging sessions.Have a UK QTS or QTLS.About usAt Hillingdon Manor, we provide specialist education for 185 pupils, aged between 3.5 and 19. Located across two sites. Our Secondary School supports around 125 pupils.
