Job overview We are looking for a full time band 6 Senior Radiographer to join our radiographic workforce at West Hertfordshire Teaching Hospitals Trust. The radiographer will work to our 7-day working model as a part of our CDC, which include long days allowing for some days off in the week. You will be based predominantly in St Albans with flexibility to work cross site.We are lucky enough to be fully equipped with 6 CT scanners, 3 MRI scanners, 10 DR mobiles and 10 DR general rooms.Work has started to build a new bespoke interventional suite on the Watford site, which will vastly improve our fluoroscopy services and offer exciting role development opportunities.Our CDC in St Albans is progressing, with works starting imminently. This will include an additional CT, MRI and plain film imaging.Outside of work you’ll also benefit from being on good transport links with London (underground), being a short walk into different shopping centres and our department socials.Experience of CT or MRI is essential however, we would expect the successful candidate to undertake training in order to work in both modalities.*You must have a HCPC registration* Main duties of the job The duties and responsibilities of the post holder include: Being an effective member of the Radiology team, providing a high standard of imaging services to Radiologists and patients.Mentoring junior staff and students.Completing and record keeping of QA testing.Following IRMER17 regulations whilst undertaking radiology examinations to a high standard Candidates must be strong communicators who share our trust values.This post is ideal for existing band 5 & 6 Radiographers looking to broaden their radiographic experience and be part of an established team. Person specification Education and qualifications Essential criteria Either DCR(R) or BSc Radiography. Attendance at mandatory training sessions.Evidence of up-to-date CPD HCPC registration. Desirable criteria PgD in a crosssectional modality. Knowledge Essential criteria Good knowledge of adaptive techniques.Aware of current trends relevant to the profession Desirable criteria Public sector/NHS knowledge.
