Our client is currently looking for a Maintenance Engineer to join their busy team in Corby, NN17.

You will carry out various electrical and mechanical maintenance and repair activities to ensure plant, machinery and general facilities across the site are available and reliable.

As the Maintenance Engineer, you will work on manual lathes, milling machines, paint spray booths, shot blasters etc. You will also assist in the reduction of plant downtime, continuous improvement initiatives, health and safety, and environmental projectwork.

The Engineers are problem solvers, alongside your day to day, you’ll get involved in CI and project work. You’ll also play a key part in the on-going growth of a high performing site.

Working Hours :Double Days Monday - Friday Rotating Shifts

  • 0600-1400
  • 1400-2200

Maintenance Engineer Duties :

  • Assist Production in achieving a very high level of maintenance throughout the Company via planning and control.
  • Carry out electrical and mechanical maintenance work on machine tools, test equipment and buildings services as and when required.
  • Dealing with emergencies, unplanned problems and diagnose faults effectively to minimise downtime.
  • Design electrical interface of test equipment.
  • Carry out quality inspections on jobs.
  • Specify and order maintenance equipment as requested in line with the Company’s Purchasing Procedure.
  • Arranging specialist procurement of fixtures, fittings or components.
  • Controlling maintenance tools, stores and equipment.
  • Work from engineering drawings and documentation or work instructions to the Company and BS/EN/ISO9001:2000 standards, systems and procedures.
  • Assist in co-ordination, planning and undertaking scheduled preventative maintenance programmes in accordance with AVK UK Group requirements.
  • Work in conjunction with the Operation Manager to ensure mínimal disruption to production.
  • Maintain breakdown records of all plants and equipment.
  • Make a contribution towards improving the efficiency of the organisation.
  • Maintain a very high standard of workmanship and housekeeping.
  • Carry out such further tasks as they may from time to time be delegated to him/her.
  • Ensure you show regard for your fellow colleagues.
  • Ensure all Company procedures are followed at all times.
  • Ensure health and safety regulations are adhered to at all times.

Maintenance Engineer Requirements :

  • Experience in:

  • Electrical and electronic engineering

  • Manufacturing engineering

  • Mechanical engineering

  • Production engineering

  • Experience of Machinery Fault Finding and Repairs

  • Recognised qualification in Engineering

  • The capacity to understand a range of engineering functions and procedures

  • Business skills, as you may be responsible for managing budgets, leading a team and liaising with suppliers

  • The ability to lead and motivate others

  • Team working skills to work cooperatively and liaise with people at all levels

  • The ability to negotiate with, and persuade others

  • Good diagnostic and problem-solving skills

  • The confidence to respond positively when under pressure

  • People-management skills.
