Role summary : This is a critical leadership role and is fundamental to the success of Vodafone Business with our largest, strategic, multinational & corporate customers. The tribe lead has the relationships and technology breadth and depth to interface with all senior stakeholders throughout the Sell, Build and Run organisation when designing and delivering services to Vodafone’s Business customers. This role spans across Northern/Central/Southern Europe & Africa, Vodafone Carrier Services & IoT working alongside the RoW (APAC & Americas) functions for the services required by Vodafone Business customers. A key element of the role will be supporting all the European & African local VBTS functions when they need Global Product & Multinational design & delivery support.

The role holder will be responsible for the development and active support of the regional Global VBTS strategy, in alignment and interlock with the regional Vodafone Business strategy. For this the tribe lead will represent the respective pre-sales, design and delivery functions towards the regional Sales & VBTS Senior Leadership Team. The role holder will lead tribes & squads, which are virtual teams scaled depending on scope, solution-complexity and customer demand. Starting in the pre-sales phase these squads will be the single interface between Vodafone Business and Vodafone Business Technology Solutions and are accountable for developing and maintaining relationships with the key stakeholders, third parties and other external bodies to ensure that what we design and sell can be delivered and operated within time, budget and quality.

Job Responsibility : Core competencies, knowledge and experience :

  • Proven experience in leading and motivating a team of experienced individuals focused on delivering to customer satisfaction
  • Successful record of managing complex Programmes/Projects in a fast-paced, agile environment
  • Excellent communications skills and established team player with well-developed influence and relationship management skills (spanning multiple senior stakeholders, with a range of cultural backgrounds).

Ability to manage from a distance, resources who work for other organisations in a highly matrixed global organisation. Experience of the sales & delivery cycle, finance and commercial functions to ensure the global and regional technology strategy is aligned with regional VGE strategy

Must have technical / professional qualifications :

  • Proven leadership experience (10+ years) with demonstrated ability to delight internal and external customers and manage Senior Stakeholders
  • Excellent communication skills including presenting & negotiation up to C Level audiences
  • Educated to technical degree/masters level.
  • Project
  • and/or Programme Management qualification (PMP, IPMA, MSP etc.) and Service Management qualification (ITIL Foundation etc.) advantageous for position.
  • Experience and/or certifications in Agile methodologies (e.g. SCRUM master) advantageous for position.
