Platform and Events Officer

The Platform is seeking a highly motivated, skilled, and enthusiastic individual to provide duty management cover at the Platform in Morecambe and when necessary, at Ashton Hall and The Storey in Lancaster. The post holder will also support the Council’s annual festival programme.

Experience and understanding of the responsibilities when managing a live music/entertainment venue is essential. Supervising and taking responsibility for a busy licensed bar operation, dealing with audiences, artists and supervising/directing staff is also essential. Excellent customer care, communication and administrative skills are a key part of the role. You must also have the ability to work as part of a team, on your own initiative, prioritise tasks and move and set up equipment. Applicants must hold a personal alcohol licence and have proven experience in the licensed entertainment industry.

Hours of work will include weekend, evening and bank holidays and possible split shifts.

This post is for a two-year fixed term, and the hours are 24 per week, the post is based at The Platform in Morecambe.

The Council currently operates an excellent Flexible Working Hours Scheme which applies to this post. Subject to the needs of this business, this may allow employees to work between the hours of 6:00am-10:30pm.
