Maintenance Person

To assess and review maintenance work required in all areas of the home on a general basis

  • To respond to any emergency maintenance work as requested by any member of staff
  • To check that the internal/external fabric of the building is in good order and well decorated. Complete minor decorating tasks
  • To inform the Manager(s) of any major decorating or building works that is required
  • All electrical, mechanical, plumbing and sewerage systems to be kept in good working order. Refer to Manager where specialist is required
  • To maintain all tools and equipment in good working order and to ensure that there are adequate tools available to complete the regular work. Ensure all tools are stored safely and securely at all times.
  • To oversee any outside contractors
  • To be familiar with the requirements of the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974
  • To be familiar with the Fire Safety Order 2005
  • Supervise part-time workers and report any problems to the Manager
  • To attend necessary training as requested
  • When dealing with any work around the home ensure that the privacy of the service users is respected and check that there is no danger to the resident such as leaving tools lying around.
  • To complete mandatory weekly, monthly, annual checks for all legislative areas including, legionella, PAT, fire (equipment, alarms and training), emergency lighting, Loler, and service contracts.

Salary : £11.02 per hour, 30 hours per week.
