You will be a strong team player who will contribute to the wider life of the school, have excellent communication skills and be able to work positively with children, parents and staff. It would be desirable for candidates to have significant, current experience of EYFS.Please note the hours of work will range between 8.45 – 15.30 Monday – Friday.Main Purpose of the Job:To work under the instruction / guidance of teaching / senior staff to undertake work / care / support programmes, to enable access to learning for pupils including those with special needs, to assist the teacher in the management of pupils and the classroom. Work may be carried out in the classroom or outside the main teaching area.We are looking for a Teaching Assistant who has/is (Essential/Desirable) Good numeracy/literacy skills ENVQ 2 for Teaching Assistants or equivalent qualifications or experience DTraining in the relevant learning strategies, e.g. literacy DFirst Aid Training as appropriate DWorking with or caring for children of relevant age EEffective use of ICT support learning EUse of other equipment technology – video, photocopier EBasic understanding of child development and learning EAbility to self evaluate learning needs and actively seek learning activities EAbility to relate well to children and adults EWork constructively as part of a team EUnderstanding of relevant policies/code of practice and awareness of relevant legislation DGeneral understanding of national/foundation stage curriculum and other basic learning programmes/strategiesWe are dedicated to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expect all staff to share this commitment. The successful candidate will be subject to enhanced clearance through the Disclosure and Barring Service and employment will be subject to references.
