Low and Medium Secure Services - Mental Illness and Personality Disorder

Summary

In this role you will carry a case load of one ward of 12 patients, supported by an Occupational Therapy Assistant. You will hold managerial responsibility for the delivery of Occupational Therapy Services to the six LSU and MSU wards in the hospital. Inorder to do this you will have a team of one full time OT per ward, and one full time OTA for every two wards.

Clinical : You would be responsible for the assessment and treatment of occupational dysfunction for up to 12 service users in our Secure Male Service. Patients in the service have a range of diagnoses including psychosis, personality disorders,bi-polar and ASD. You will work with a full multidisciplinary team in a coordinated way to support each service user develop their skills and move through our clinical model of care from admission to discharge.

Leadership : You would report to and deputise for the Regional Lead Occupational Therapist (on site). You would hold leadership and management responsibilities for the Occupational Therapy Service to 6 wards. You will drive innovation andquality improvement within the Occupational Therapy Services.

Our services are therapy and recovery focused, providing assessment, treatment and rehabilitation. The aim is to effectively progress service users though the Secure Services care pathway or the Personality Disorder Services care pathway. Discharge planningaims to transition our patients into the least restrictive environment possible, while working to reduce the possibility of readmission back into hospital care.

Occupational Therapy Directorate

Under the leadership of our Occupational Therapy Directors we support over 150 Occupational Therapists in the company. Working together as a large team we provide support to each other across the group, with the opportunity to be part of specialist interestgroups & to become involved in service development.

Every service line has a Clinical Lead Occupational Therapist to lead and develop evidence based practice and agreed occupational therapy pathway. You will work closely with the Clinical Leads in the Secure Service Line and Personality Disorder Service Linenationally.
