Job Title: Site ManagerDepartment: Retail Large Works DepartmentBranch Location: Peterborough or NorthamptonResponsible to: Project Manager/Senior ManagerDescriptionReporting to a senior manager, the Site Manager will be overseeing projects of varying values and diverse natures. This will primarily be Retail Projects (Morrisons and Waitrose Supermarkets etc.) but in time may include commercial projects, MOD, MOJ, schools, care homes and upgrade works for values between £5,000 and £10m.Overseeing the direction of the entire project, this crucial role involves working closely with Project Managers to ensure communication, compliance and high standards are always a priority. The Site Manager will ensure that the allocated projects run efficiently, profitably and ensuring full compliance to Health & Safety legislation and contract conditions. The critical conditions being that all work is completed in a safe working manner, within programme and to the total satisfaction of our client.Due to the locations and nature of these works, this role requires flexibility as we often work additional hours, stop out overnight during the week and travelling. Retail projects can require your week to start on a Sunday, staying away Sunday/Monday to Thursday, additional working hours and some nights. As retail spaces are open during the day, our clients can prefer works to take place during the night, resulting in night works.Main Duties & ResponsibilitiesResponsible for the day-to-day running of the project.Monitoring Health & Safety practices and CDM Regulations onAttendance of regular site meetings with client, Architect, Quantity Surveyor, Planning Supervisor etc.Preparation of reports, programmes updates, progress and profitabilityAgree pricing and instructions with yourContribute to formulating valuations and finalAssisting with the preparation ofTo procure, negotiate terms and monitor the performance of sub-contractors andTo identify and implement improvements to any aspect of the service that weIntroduction of new suppliers/ sub-Ensure that acceptable levels of customer care are provided at allContribute to and attend financial and progress meetings with the client, engineers and subcontractors as required.Provide support to the site team in order to optimise the use of contractMaintaining deadlines in line withTo provide cover for other associated staff during times ofRegular use of our bespoke computer system and other software packages such as Word, Excel and Project.Duties and responsibilities will vary in line withThe above information should only be used as a guide to the duties and responsibilities expected of the Site Manager.
