Neighbourhood Asset Management Officer Job descriptionWe are currently looking for a Neighbourhood Asset Management Officer to join the Neighbourhood Services team. The Neighbourhood Services team is responsible for a wide range of service delivery functions. The team consists of circa 200 employees, split across four service areas which include: Streetscene – street cleansing, grass cutting and verge maintenance, general grounds maintenance, ornamental gardens and memorial parks, maintenance of Aberavon beachfront, litter picking, litter and dog bin emptying, highway repairs etc.Cemeteries – Maintenance, management and development of the 9 Council run cemeteries within the county borough.Margam Crematorium – Management and development of the crematorium and maintenance of the grounds.Asset and Project Management – management of spatial asset data, digitisation of services, service performance improvement, arboriculture services, playground management and development, bus shelters, allotments, third sector support for land managed by Streetcare etc. We are looking to recruit a new Neighbourhood Asset Management Officer to work within the latter of the four service areas set out above. This is a newly created role within the wider Neighbourhood team and is critical to driving service improvement across all of the Neighbourhood Service functions.Candidates will need to display that they have a thirst for innovation, a drive for project delivery and a sound understanding of geographical information systems and asset management software that will be required to fulfil what will be a very challenging role. The successful candidate will work directly with the Neighbourhood Asset and Projects Manager to drive improvement, efficiency and excellence across the entire Neighbourhood Service portfolio.Significant improvements are required in terms of asset data and the successful candidate will be responsible for managing the service areas data. Together with the Neighbourhood Assets and Projects Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring that the section has accurate, up to date and pertinent data that will enable service delivery models to be challenged and efficiency improvements made when possible.Further to the improvements required in terms of asset data, it is recognised that a number of service functions need to transform from traditional service delivery models into class leading digitally supported services.
