We care for patients pre & post operatively in urology, general surgery, trauma & orthopaedic, ENT, plastics, breast & gynaecology surgery.We are open Monday to Friday 07.30 to 22.00 and Saturdays 07:00 to 16.00.We are a dynamic unit and strive to deliver a positive patient experience. The post would ideally suit a nurse who is keen to develop their professional profile - someone who recognises opportunities for improvements and is a motivator to drive forward changes within the unit.A dynamic and enthusiastic senior nurse with the ambition to succeed, willingness to learn and ability to work with the whole team in support of the Senior Sister.A nurse keen to develop their management skills, has excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Main duties of the job Duties will include:Acting as a role model promoting excellent patient care, supporting more junior staff and students.Deputise for the ward manager in their absence.Ensure the smooth running of the unit.Supporting Junior Staff & supporting the ward manager.Supporting students.Coordinating the ward on a regular basis therefore needs to be flexible and able to work all available shift patterns Patient care pre- and post-operatively. We care for patients undergoing day case procedures in a variety of surgical specialties including urology, plastics, orthopaedics, general surgery, maxilo facial, ENT and trauma.
