The Trusts and Tax Team

Our clients highly regarded specialist team works with clients on personal tax affairs and the administration of trusts. The team removes the stress of completing annual accounts, tax returns, HRMC compliance and dealing with the day-to-day requests frombeneficiaries for funds. The team is experienced in dealing with the tax affairs of individuals and those who may be a client of our Court of Protection team, whereby a Deputy or an Attorney may act on their behalf.

Your Role

We are looking for an experienced Tax Accountant to join our clients' Individual Client team, specifically to work on Personal Tax matters and Estate and Trust matters. You should have strong experience in Tax Accountancy matters across the board and confidencein working with Private Clients, Executors and Trustees.

  • You will work as part of our Lifetime Planning Team to provide proactive taxation advice to our clients
  • You will prepare tax returns for private clients
  • You will be preparing 60-day capital gains tax returns in respect of disposals of residential property
  • You shall advise clients on income tax and capital gains tax matters, including advising on tax planning and mitigation
  • You will calculate tax liabilities and advise on payment of tax due under self-assessment
  • You shall advise clients on stamp duty land tax
  • You will be preparing estate accounts and dealing with the period of administration income and capital gains tax
  • You will finalise a deceased individual’s lifetime tax affairs
  • You will prepare annual trust accounts
  • You will prepare self-assessment trust tax returns
  • You will prepare tax deduction certificates for the substantial portfolio of clients
  • You will prepare Inheritance Tax forms as required for trusts
  • You will be working with the French Property Team regarding UK individuals with French properties and assets
  • You shall provide advice on tax queries to support Lawyers from all departments
  • You must promote our Trust and Tax service
  • You will support and train junior members of the team

Your Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

  • You are experienced in tax and trusts accounting matters
  • You are AAT, ATT, ACA, ACCA, or TEP qualified
  • You have experience in complex estate and trust accounting
  • You have experience in Overseas Domiciles taxation
  • You have knowledge and experience of UK taxation of individuals, estates, and trusts
  • You have excellent communication skills, both written & verbal

Remuneration and Rewards

  • Base Salary: £50,000 - £60,000 (Dependant on Skills and Experience)
