Job summaryA part of the Cabinet Office, theleads the digital, data and technology (DDaT) function for government. We put the right conditions in place to achieve digital, data and technology transformation at scale by working with departments, and other government functions like commercial, project delivery and security professionals.We are responsible for:Delivering the Cross-Government Digital, Data and Technology Strategy and Standards, like the , the and Cross-government DDaT performance and assurance, including DDaT Capability Development, including the Job descriptionWe need your skills to embed transformative technology and effective use of it around the UK Public Sector. In this role you can help central and local government, the NHS, Police, as well as 400+ agencies and other bodies. By enabling the development of strategies, principles, standards and identifying best practice, as well as supporting the adoption and embedding of these into the public sector, you�ll help your 26,000+ digital and data colleagues in these organisations deliver transformational change.Our product teams are currently focussed on Artificial Intelligence, DevOps, Platforms and Colleague Experience, making these easier for organisations of all sizes, identifying opportunities and managing the aggregate risks of these technologies to UK Government.���As Service Owner you will be a key part of a product team of DDaT technologists and you will need to operate at scale connecting business areas and stakeholders while taking responsibility for governance and budget for the team.You will:take responsibility with the Principal Technologist for a 10-year intent and strategy for the field you are aligned to, and gain endorsement across government for thisensure governance over the principles, standards and best practice published by your team and ensure these are life cycle managedlead the team�s agile working practices and come up with innovative ways of delivering your outcomes, including through technology vendorsown the budget, successful operation and improvement of the products and services your team providesdevelop business cases to secure funding and land commercial deals to ensure the operational delivery of your planned products and services, iterating to improve the efficiency of your team�s operationsThe above list of job duties is not exclusive or exhaustive and the post holder will be required to undertake such tasks as may reasonably be expected within the scope and grading of the post.Person specificationThe successful candidate will need to operate at pace, set high standards for the work they commission and have a keen eye for detail to ensure that all issues are dealt with appropriately.
