Senior Housing Supply Officer

The successful post holder will provide supervisory support to the team leader the Allocations & Lettings Officers, Housing Register Officer, Placement Officer, and Housing Supply Assistant.

DUTIES AND RESPONSABILITIES BUT NOT LIMITED TO :

• Support the team manager to manage a team of officers carrying out: allocating accommodation in line with part VI of the Housing Act 1996, essentially to council and registered provider homes; Allocating temporary accommodation and private rented accommodation to prevent homelessness and discharge the homeless duty (PRSO's); Making placements into temporary accommodation.
• Support and supervise the provision of a lawful and efficient allocations process for permanent temporary and PRS prevention and discharge accommodation.
• Provide customers in housing need a full range of advice and interventions on their housing options in the private and public housing sector with the aim of ensuring a comprehensive service to prevent homelessness making full use of any available schemes and initiatives.
• Supervise the process for and complete direct matching processes for those with medical needs (including delayed discharge of care cases), under occupiers, management transfers, sheltered applicants.
• Contribute to the effective management of the whole Housing Supply team.

Personal Requirements :

• Knowledge of law relating to homelessness as covered by the 1996 Housing Act, and Homelessness Reduction Act 2017.
• Knowledge of the Children's Act, the Care Act, and the Welfare Reform Act.
• Support learning and development opportunities in the team, commissioning, devising, and delivering training activity and evaluating it's benefits.
• Experience monitoring, reporting on and analysing information management systems to improve service delivery.
