Learning Management System Development Manager

Salary: £31,931 - £34,709 gross per annum

The Hartree Centre (part of the Science and Technology Facilities Council) are seeking a Learning Management System Development Manager to facilitate the running and maintenance of a Totara based Learning Management System (LMS).

Joining the Hartree National Centre for Digital Innovation team, you will liaise with our Centre's Learning Leads, technical staff and the HNCDI Explain workstream, providing a single platform for customers to engage. You will be responsible for the onlinedevelopment of courses and reports, building learning pathways and associated resources used for instructional functions in order to organise and deploy training materials onto the LMS. You will also be responsible for archiving and removing obsolete content.

A key responsibility is developing and maintaining online courses using our LMS and a variety of multi-media software. You will build and undertake robust quality assurance activities, including test interactive content and course build. You will acquireand maintain awareness of HNCDI activities and technical advances to support and assist in developing online content. You will maintain procedure and policies to ensure the security and integrity of the content

To succeed in this role, you will have:

  • Excellent knowledge of and demonstrable experience of working with Totara LMS
  • Previous experience in a technical role and possess excellent communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with others, both internally and externally
  • A solid understanding of learning theories and instructional technology
  • Experience of eLearning specifications, particularly SCORM
  • Experience of setting up and managing data within a Learning Records System
  • Excellent organisational skills and exceptional attention to detail
  • Good stakeholder management skills, in particular, third-party engagement to ensure an excellent working relationship with technology providers
