Job Description Planner Our client are recruiting a Planner with relevant industry experience to join their team. You will be working on the delivery of Nationally Significant Infrastructure, SECTION 37 and TCPA Projects, supporting the planning lead on multidisciplinary projects to deliver day to day tasks and contribute to project milestones. You will carry out allocated tasks to a high standard, working as part of a team and/or independently and support commercial elements of a Project including Programme, EWN’s, CENs and Subcontractors. You will have excellent communication skill as you will be mentoring junior members of staff, providing support, advice and training as and when required. You will also delegate certain tasks, coordinate work and check deliverables done by others. Key responsibilities: Produce and deliver feasibility, planning and GIS related elements and deliverables of various Projects. This may include delegation of certain tasks to junior members of the team, monitoring progress, checking work and meeting deadlines. Support in the development of corridors, alignment and routes for the Project from initial needs case through to NSIP/SECTION 37 submission. Where able, provide pre-and-post application planning, environmental and engineering input or advice on locally and nationally significant infrastructure Projects across the UK and Ireland. Developing understanding of planning regimes and legislation (DCO, DNS, SECTION 32, TCPA etc) You may also have to work on other non-transmission related planning schemes and work on other activities related to other departments. Qualifications and Experience: We are looking for a planner who is educated to Master's level (desirable) or Bachelor (essential) in relevant subject such as Geography, Planning or Environmental Sciences (or similar). You will be a member of, or working towards membership, in a relevant Professional Institution, desirable but not essential. Ideally you will hold a UK Driving licence (or one acceptable to our insurers) as role requires attendance at client meetings. You will have minimum 2 years’ post-graduate experience in the infrastructure/development sector working on relevant T&D (OHL, substations, underground cables) or other planning schemes, minimum 2 years’ post-graduate experience of using GIS software and experience on electricity Projects including NSIPs, SECTION 37 or TCPA Projects (desirable).
