Are you a highly motivated person with rigorous attention to detail, ready to take on a fast-paced dynamic role within our team? We need a Senior Professional Practitioner in the Admissions and Free School Meals Service who can champion a fair and equitable admission process in accordance with national legislation and local policy, to ensure that all children in Nottinghamshire, of statutory school age, have access to a school place or appropriate educational provision. This is a challenging, high profile and rewarding role, providing an opportunity to make a real difference to the lives of children and families in Nottinghamshire.

You will have key responsibility for managing the processes to allocate school places across the County using NCC’s education management system, ensuring compliance within admissions legislation and oversight of the free school meals service delivery. This interesting, diverse and demanding role requires outstanding communication skills as you will be required to confidently produce high quality reports, data and correspondence to a wide audience, including senior officers and councillors.

Previous experience of school admissions or working with children and young people is desirable. Training will be given but you will need to have the ability to ensure that processes are adhered to meticulously, to ensure the County Council discharges its statutory duties effectively. You will have excellent IT skills and be able to confidently use excel to support analysis of data.

You will undertake out of hours work, for 7-day periods, on the team’s Emergency Duty rota.
