We are looking for an experienced Transport Supervisor - £26,650pa - Tewkesbury to assist the Transport Manager with the smooth running of the Tewkesbury Distribution Centre.

The Role - We are currently looking for an experienced Transport Supervisor to join our Tewkesbury team.

The purpose of the role is to assist with the smooth running of a busy transport department by effective management and serve as a service delivery driver to cover busy periods / absence

Daily responsibilities include:

  • Allocate fleet and crews for home delivery to correct routes to ensure legal compliance
  • Ensure pre brief & de briefings are undertaken at start of shift and end of shift for all transport movements
  • Manage on road issues and the delivery failure process to a high standard of compliance
  • Manage driver performance to achieve high standards of customer service, ensuring a high lever of NPS is achieved.
  • Ensure a high level of PDA compliance is achieved
  • Ensure all product returns procedures are adhered to
  • Confirmation all deliveries are completed for order bank management
  • Ensure all relevant information is recorded for transport KPIs
  • Liaise with other Transport Managers within the network to plan inbound trunking movements of de-mount bodies
  • Liaise with stores to resolve any customer issues
  • Liaise with warehouse and admin departments to achieve effective running of the DC operation
  • Help to Organise service and maintenance of vehicles in line with legal requirements
  • Help to Manage driver hours in line with working time legislation
  • Assistance with transport documentation that records are managed in line with relevant legislation in preparation for transport audits
  • Investigate driver incident reports
  • Undertake investigations as and when required
  • Assist health and safety within legal requirements
  • Undertake any tasks as reasonably requested by management
  • Attend daily & weekly team’s meetings to discuss performance, plans & targets for the network

Skills needed We are looking for an experienced Transport Supervisor with the following skills, experience and attributes to be successful in this role:

  • Previous experience of working within a transport department
  • Previous experience of 1-man or 2-man home delivery
  • Driver CPC & Driver Digi Card
  • Good geographical knowledge
  • Knowledge of transport legislation
  • Computer literacy
  • Good knowledge of Health and Safety
