We have a fantastic opportunity for a Regional Engineer to join our team in the Caldicot region.

The salary for this role is negotiable (DOE) plus a company van, overtime, and benefits.

AFI are currently recruiting for a Regional Engineer based out of our Caldicot region. You will be responsible for supporting the Central Service Hub Manager in the smooth-running of the region and servicing and maintaining our expanding hire rental fleet.

The Regional Engineer role in brief :

  • Carrying out pre-delivery inspections (PDIs), services, LOLER inspections, repairs, manufacturer updates, and maintaining the corporate image of our fleet of rental machines
  • Attending breakdowns on customer sites
  • Accurately completing all necessary recordings of checks using a company issued PDA, following company procedure at all times
  • Communicating effectively with the engineering team and hire office to make sure that the depot maintains maximum machine availability

Essential Skills :

  • You must hold an engineering qualification - minimum NVQ Level 2 or equivalent
  • Experience within the powered access industry is essential
  • Be competent in electro/hydraulic systems
  • You will be experienced in fault-finding/diagnostics
  • You will be working closely with customers and colleagues, so you must be able to communicate professionally
  • You must be able to prioritise tasks in an ever-changing demanding hire environment

Desirable Skills :

  • A CAP (Competent Assessed Person) licence would be a distinct advantage
  • You should have a sound mechanical knowledge in a heavy plant background, i.e. powered access, excavators, or forklifts
