A number of vacancies have arisen for Process Operators to work within the Fuel Specialties business at Ellesmere Port.

The purpose of the role is to operate process plant safely and efficiently, maximising yield performance, producing a quality finished product.
Overall Responsibilities:
• To operate process according to written SOP’s
• Operate a complex recipe driven DCS system
• Monitor the multiple stages of manufacture via the DCS
• Shunting activities
• Coupling and decoupling ISO tanks
• Basic product analysis
• Identified basic maintenance skills
• Demonstrate the good principles of starting and stopping pumps, opening and closing valves etc
• Give the right attention to detail when handling hazardous chemicals
• Specify control measures to reduce risk
• Carry out analysis using wet chemistry techniques
• Set up process equipment so that maintenance can be carried out safely
• Participate in the Site Journey to Zero Harm initiative
• Responsible signatory to allow maintenance work to happen on the plant
• Area housekeeping
• Accurate recording of data and compilation of shift reports
• Inputting of any data to safely and productively operate the process
• Create a quality Permit to Work to ensure that all hazards of carrying out maintenance are
documented and control measures are in place
• Demonstrate high standards of plant cleanliness
• Carry out in-process testing
• Make decisions during the manufacturing process to ensure product quality meets the agreed
specification
• Understand the priorities for each product to ensure production targets are met
• Understand the basic chemistry of the manufacturing process
• Recognise potential problems before they occur
• Apply troubleshooting techniques to achieve early resolution of problems
Role Requirements:
• Minimum NVQ Level 3 in Process Plant Operations
• Fork Lift Truck License holder
• Understand the principles of CoSHH relevant to plant operation
• Excellent attention to detail, with good written and oral skills
• Ability to undertake Shunting training to gain license
