Fabricator - Welder YO25 Area £13 -£15.50 DOE Monday to Friday 8.00 - 16.30 Driving License Essential We are looking for a competent Fabricator - Welder within the fabrication workshop. As the point of reference of both workers and managers, you will be a key person for the completion of production. The Workshop Fabricating - Welder must have a solid background in the field including previous experience working on Staircase Fabrication. Your leadership skills and your extensive experience have earned you the ability to work alone and make quick decisions. You must be well-organised and favour safety above everything else. Assist and perform the duties of all shop operators . Assist Steel Production Supervisor . Welds special projects, and finished goods as required. Responsible for the accomplishment of work performed by the assigned personnel under the direction and authority of supervisor. Unloads, receives, transports, and stores materials and supplies for steel fabrication shop. Disperses materials as required. Completes requisitions, purchase orders, maintains organisation of the storeroom and its contents. This role will also require site work so must have the ability to interact with fellow site workers, as well as be able to work alone efficiently and to an excellent standard. Responsibilities Coordinate tasks according to priorities and plans Use of Rollers, press brake, shear press, notcher, drill press, band saw, oxy acetylene torch, plasma torch, welder, grinder, saw, drill, rivet gun, arc welder, overhead crane and hoiset, forklift, air mover Guarantee all safety precautions and quality standards are met Inspects, and audits Bill of materials (BOM), labour routing, re-adjusts, corrects, provides input to change as required. Insures proper operation, and operates all production equipment, material handling equipment, safety equipment, forklifts, pallets jacks, painting and coating equipment, paint booth air system. Welds special projects using a MiG welder as specified by layout, welding diagram or work order. Performs the duties of the small and big line welders, as needed. Operates forklift if required to move raw materials into work area and to move finished product from work area. Resolve problems when they arise Computer interface skills, good math skills, good verbal and written communication skills in English are required. Report on progress to managers, engineers etc. Requirements and skills Proven experience as a Fabricator - Welder In-depth knowledge of manufacturing procedures, equipment and guidelines Understanding of working with Mild steel, Stainless Steel and Aluminium materials Ability to read drawings, plans and blueprints Excellent organizational and leadership skills Ability to communicate and report effectively Aptitude in math Problem-solving abilities Good knowledge of CNC Machine operations and working from Drawings If you are interested and meet the above criteria, please send your CV to mvodden@prestige-recruitment.com or call the team on 01482 382 301 if you have any queries.
