We’re looking for an enthusiastic and motivated team player who loves being involved in the high tempo environment of incident response. As part of the West Midlands Area Incident Team, you’ll be responsive, flexible and able to adapt to changing priorities. You’ll have a “can-do” attitude and be committed to creating an inclusive culture, helping to build a more resilient West Midlands for the communities and environment we serve. - The team is at the heart of incident response, delivering a variety of activities that support the readiness, resilience, recovery and review of our incident management activities. The team also provides the first tactical response for the Area.You will: - Support advisors with tactical planning activities e.g. preparing and collating information, liaising with other teams, writing up details. - Manage and maintain incident management systems and equipment - Support emergency planning activities to deliver business continuity planning and preparation, including exercises. - Collate information to share with incident teams - Support delivery of training and exercising, contributing to production of materials, and facilitation of sessions. - Support the team to create efficiencies, e.g. joined roster administration, training, meetings etc. - Support delivery of cross-cutting improvements including new ways of working that area applicable to all incidents The team - Our Area Incident Team is a crucial part of how we work to protect communities and the environment. We help provide tactical response to all types of incidents, and deal with the increasing threats and natural hazards resulting from the climate and ecological emergency. We co-ordinate and assure all incident management activity, including training and exercising, professional partner engagement and deliver core preparation activities. Experience/skills required - Previous experience in working in an incident based environment - Ability to support strategic incident planning activities by providing incident expertise in relevant field - Able to provide incident advice for training and exercising - Can work nationally with relevant teams to support incident management activities - Good leadership skills - the role holder will be asked to take on the role of Delivery Lead for a specific incident management role - Experience of working collaboratively with customers and partners. - An understanding, and experience of, embedding a continuous improvement culture Contact and additional information - Please note that that your answers to the capability questions will be used to determine interview selection.- Interviews are likely to be held via video conference and will include a capability based interview and exercise to a panel of incident management staff. - When we return to office working, this role would be based in either Sentinel House, Riversmeet House or Hafren House.
