Key skills required for this role Project Engineer, Rail PE, Lineside Civils, Rail Civils, Telecomms,Civil Telecomms Important Rail Civils Project Engineer Job description This permanent position offers an exciting opportunity to work on a long-term project, delivering lineside Civils & Telecoms on the Rail infrastructure.You will be required to:Implement Network Rail systems and procedures to ensure a cost-effective, high-quality, safe, and environmentally responsible approach to design, construction, commissioning, and other technical activities. You will liaise with regulators and other stakeholders as necessary. Engineer projects to the standards and specifications of Network Rail, in compliance with appropriate Railway Group and Network Rail Company standards, formal specifications, and procedures.Maintain the use of relevant techniques and procedures for risk assessment and manage the environmental aspects of projects in accordance with Network Rail's environmental policy.Provide project management advice in respect of all construction activities, including site supervision.Undertake reviews of design and/or construction activities in conjunction with the client.Arrange audits of on-site Quality Inspections.Manage and deliver all aspects of the Inspection & Test plan. Essential Experience: Significant experience in lineside civils, with telecoms installation experience considered a bonus.Minimum of 5 years' experience in Rail, with at least 3 years' experience as a Project Engineer.Technical qualifications to HNC/HND or equivalent GNVQ level.Knowledge of health, safety, environmental & quality assurance regulations.An understanding of the arrangements required for the independent assessment of work.Risk assessment & engineering management competency.Understanding of temporary works requirements.Ability to work well as part of a team.Proactive, and flexible approach to work.Strong task and time management skills.Honesty and integrity in all professional dealings.Ability to work confidentially and under pressure.Good working knowledge of Excel, Word, and Outlook.Excellent oral and written communication skills. Desirable Experience: Membership of a relevant professional body.An appreciation of environmental issues in engineering works.Project Safety management experience.
