Job description : About our Navy and Maritime team: The DIO Commercial Programmes team are integral part of the delivery teams procuring and delivering some of the most significant and strategic construction programmes across the Navy Portfolio and UK defence, ranging from Accommodation, Airfields, Complex Marine Works to submarine docks and nuclear infrastructure.

The growing commercial team currently amounts to over 15 civil servant and industry partner staff and we have a number of opportunities within Commercial Programmes due to growth.

Person specification : As an Associate Commercial Lead in the Navy and Maritime team: You will support and deliver capital projects across the defence estate and you will have a background in projects and construction which may range from cost management to programme delivery, ideally but not necessarily in a MOD or Government environment. This may be a formal commercial or technical / QS background with a willingness to achieve formal commercial accreditation.

Alongside this you will be willing to work across different phases of the commercial lifecycle, from leading or support key sourcing activities to contract management with the aim to meet project goals while minimising risk and ensuring value for money is considered on a sound Commercial basis.

You will be accountable for ensuring adherence to and conformity with all agreed DIO processes and operating procedures, and particularly those which are detailed under the key infrastructure process for Commercial and relate to end to end project management.

Responsibilities :

  • Provide input to Commercial Strategy and associated contracting strategy as required following RIBA 2020 stages and NEC contracting models.
