Nursery Practitioner

Due to staff retirement, we have a rare opportunity to join our fantastic After School Club in Overton, working alongside our highly experienced dedicated team of staff.

The position is part time/term time only, working from 2.00pm until 5.30pm Monday to Friday, 17.5hrs per week. (There are options of extra hours at our Nursery in Heysham should you be interested).

Essential:

  • Minimum of Level 3 or above in Childcare or Play Leader qualification.
  • At least 1 years childcare experience working with 0-11yr olds.

Desirable:

  • Paediatric First Aid / DBS certificate (However these must be obtained once in employment).

Duties :

  • Provide a safe and nurturing environment for children at the after school club
  • Plan and implement age-appropriate activities and learning experiences
  • Supervise and engage children in play and educational activities
  • Monitor and ensure the safety of children at all times
  • Communicate with parents regarding their child and any concerns
  • Maintain a clean and organized environment

Skills :

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to build positive relationships with children and parents
  • Knowledge of child development principles and practices
  • Patience, empathy, and understanding towards children's needs
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
