Job Title - Junior Technician
Location - Runcorn Salary - £24,000
Working hours - Monday - Friday (6am-2pm / 2pm-10pm) weekly rotation
Job Scope To ensure that all machines, ancillaries, tools, jigs, die sets etc. are maintained to a functional standard and operate within the required specifications.Root cause quality issues and implement corrective actions. To undertake the training of staff, inthe maintenance/production processes, promote safe working practices in line with the Company Environmental and Health & Safety policy, support the management team.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintenance
Control of preventative maintenance on a weekly, monthly, biannually basis to ensure mÃnimal machine downtime. Log activity into CMMS (Agility) carry out basic repairs and liaise with support functions (YEU, site electrician) to ensure timely fault resolution.
- Continuous Improvement/Process Support
Working alongside Sales and R&D departments to introduce new projects and improvements to current product designs/machinery. Using lean manufacturing techniques to improve the department’s efficiencies.
- Product Quality
Responsible for investigating reported quality issues and implementation of preventative actions. Must make management aware of any quality issues reported and the actions that have been taken. Records must be maintained so that quality issues and correctiveactions are reported by you at the monthly quality meetings
- Training
Working alongside the production leader to ensure that all operators working within the section have an understanding of the requirements for H&S, maintenance and process issues
- Health & Safety
Monthly records need to be maintained by technical staff in reference to the “PUWER Directive - Provision and Use of Work Equipment†for the following.Machine conditioning, Risk assessments COSHH assessments, maintenance records etc. Any H&S issues areto be brought to the attention of management on a daily basis. These will need to be recorded and reported at the monthly Health & Safety meetings.
Experience / Qualifications Required Minimum BTEC/ONC qualification in an Engineering discipline
