Job Summary As an Architectural Technician you will be working on a range of projects across, education, residential, commercial, defence, healthcare and transportation sectors. Job Duties: General duties on a range of projects and design stages, including design, detailing, drawing, contract administration, site inspections, etc. General administrative and management duties appropriate to architectural practice You will assist in the preparation of design work and presentations, the production of the technical delivery of projects including working drawings, specification writing and contract documentation and help in the development of presentations and projects Person Specification Must be proficient in the use of Revit Architecture (2015 or later). Must be proficient in the use of AutoCad. Creative, practical, adaptable and enthusiastic Ability to demonstrate attention to detail Ability to think in a methodical way to design, plan and organize parts of projects English language proficient, holding excellent communication skills to present information in speech, drawings and reports Candidates must be eligible to work in the UK Performing basic architectural/engineering calculations. Preparing specifications, reports and related data tables. Maintaining liaison with design and drafting groups. Preparing, reviewing, and approving drawings as required. Under direct supervision, may complete design assignments of limited to moderate complexity. Limited familiarity with codes, permits, and software applications related to the discipline. Introduced to the process of preparing designs and drawings using project specifications and discipline-associated written and verbal instructions in accordance with established design practices, standards and procedures. Basic to intermediate understanding of the purpose and use of vendor documents. Introduced to the process of performing material take-offs for the discipline. Minimum Requirements Proven related Architecture experience. Experience of working on projects, preferably including site experience Working knowledge of Sketchup, Photoshop and other presentation software Experience of various forms of building contract Working knowledge of Building Systems, Regulations and construction types IT literate, with knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to manage a busy workload and deadlines Driving Licence Preferred Qualifications Degree in a relevant subject, or equivalent Other complimentary professional qualifications would be desirable Your benefits will include: Helping our employees achieve a healthy work-life balance is important to us.
