Financial Controller - Part Time

3 days per week - 16/ 21 hours flexible

Competitive Salary: circa £45k

The Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a fully qualified ACA/ACCA or CIMA Financial Controller with international experience to manage and own all aspects of the financial and management accounting requirements needed for this busy Packaging Design agencywith circa 70+ staff. German language skills are advantageous, although not essential.

You will be able to display a proven track record in a similar senior finance role, with a minimum of 5 year’s post qualification experience managing all accounting processes within an organisation, ideally gained in an owner managed environment. Experienceof working in an international environment and/or exposure of running intercompany entries for multiple foreign subsidiaries, understanding of transfer pricing, and running accounts for multiple foreign subsidiaries would be highly desirable.

You will have strong financial and commercial acumen and think strategically and analytically, taking a proactive approach to finding effective solutions. It is essential that you are enthusiastic and self-motivated with the energy and drive to challenge,advise and deliver in a fast-paced environment. You will be a self-starter, proactive and able to identify and implement efficiencies across the finance function. You will demonstrate proven leadership qualities and be comfortable leading and developing thefinance department where required.

Responsibilities :

  • Recording all financial transactions on Sage 50 accounting software
  • Line manage the invoice team
  • Raise payments of approved invoices by BACS
  • Prepare weekly reconciliations of bank accounts in Sterling, Euros and US Dollars
  • Manage the outsourced Payroll, auto enrolment pension and PAYE administration, including preparation of P11D’s and administration of childcare vouchers and Cycle2Work scheme deductions
  • Preparing annual accounts and liaising with auditors and tax accountants
  • Record bookkeeping entries for accruals/prepayments
  • Efficient management of filing system and documents
  • Providing advice to Company management on Tax Returns
  • Monthly management accounts and ad hoc reporting
  • Ensure all VAT Returns, Corporation, EMI returns are completed to deadlines
  • Detailed monthly management reporting
  • Responsible for all statutory declarations and filing and ensure all deadlines are met including VAT, EC Sales Lists etc
  • Day to day Bookkeeping
  • Overseeing and responsible for the complete group accounting systems and processes
  • Forecasting and detailed financial analysis
  • Liaising with auditors, tax agents, corporate secretary, government departments and legal representatives for UK and US accounts
  • Overseeing and management of the accounting system

Job Skills and Qualifications

  • Possess a minimum of 5 years Financial Accounting experience
  • Be experienced in international accounting ideally, including the US
  • Be full or part qualified AAT or ACCA
  • Be proficient in running all aspects of payroll and a workplace pension scheme
  • Be highly skilled in using excel spreadsheets
  • Remain calm and resilient when working under pressure
  • Work to highly precise and detail conscious standards
  • Demonstrate strong inter-personal skills
  • Have high levels of integrity and dependability
  • Forecasting experience and running in depth management schedules would be advantageous.
  • Ideally experience and exposure running intercompany entries for foreign subsidiaries advantageous.
