When you join the Sampling team at Affinity Water, you'll be on the front line of water safety, quality and delivery, ensuring that customers receive the very best when they turn on their tap.
What's involved
As a Sampler, you’ll spend most of your time out and about visiting company sites, treatment works, reservoirs and customer properties, collecting samples across our operational area and delivering these to the Sample Centre in Stevenage.
You’ll perform routine, non-routine and random sampling across our southern supply area, mainly working independently to complete your daily schedule. There’s plenty of driving involved and so you’ll be a confident driver with a full UK driving licence.
Travelling between sites couldn’t be easier as you’ll be given a company van to get yourself around. Working hours: Mon-Fri, 08:00 - 13:00 (25 hours p/week)
What do you need?
Completing a sampling schedule is often time-pressured and so you’ll be excellent at managing your time. You’ll be a self-starter who’s comfortable working alone, to tight deadlines, and in a fast-paced work environment.
Don't worry if you've not worked in the water industry before - we'll invest the time to ensure you're fully up to speed with specific water industry knowledge and best practise. What matters to us is finding someone who shares our values of health, safety, environment and quality and understands the importance of strict procedures and compliance in water sampling.
As the service you’ll provide is essential to the customer, you’ll be comfortable participating in a weekend and out-of-hours standby rota to ensure someone is always on hand when there's an operational issue. It’s all part of your outstanding service.
