RECRUITMENTiQ is working in partnership with a school in Runcorn, Halton who are seeking to recruit a Emmaus Manager MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB : To work with school staff and other agencies to provide additional support to children who need help to overcome barriers to learning, targeting help to these children who need it most. The Emmaus Manager will plan and implement support strategies for those pupils with identified needs and, where required, support the work of the Phase Leads They will manage the day-to-day running of the Learning Support area. The focus of the Emmaus Centre Manager’s work will be to facilitate the student support programme through direct work and by the provision in the Emmaus Centre. To be pastoral point of contact for ensuring that children are supported in school. To work with school staff and other agencies to ensure that students are safeguarded from harm and, where appropriate, action is taken and followed up. KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • To implement the full requirements of the school’s Behaviour Policy, ensuring that all policies, procedures and protocols are adhered to by all colleagues at all times.
  • To undertake direct work with students who are experiencing difficulties and challenges. Following up with staff, parents and outside agencies where required and reporting to the Assistant Head teacher.
  • Act as point of contact/advice for school staff regarding support for students, including, but not exclusively with regards, safeguarding.
  • Act as a point of contact/meet with School Counsellor, School Nurse, and Educational Psychologist etc: discussing cases, submitting referrals when directed by AHT, communicating with students, carers and professionals. Ensure actions are implemented andrelevant paperwork is completed.
  • To ensure the completion of records relating to the Emmaus Centre and to develop support strategies for individual pupils.
  • Within the Emmaus Centre: ensure that all students are marked correctly on the register, liaising with teaching staff, work is obtained, completed and returned, behaviour management, support vulnerable, anxious, bereaved students etc.
  • Ensure that the progress of identified students is on track by regular meetings with the child. Take appropriate action to inform Line Manager of any concerns.
  • Implement support plans including reintegration and exit strategies for all pupils working in the Emmaus Centre.
  • To manage referrals to the Emmaus Centre and produce learning programmes to accommodate individual needs including attending all external meetings as guided by the AHT Inclusion.
  • To construct and manage the Emmaus Centre timetable on a weekly basis.
  • To support the Senior Leadership Team in the production of reports including Emmaus Centre updates e.g. individual pupil plans or concerns.
  • To coordinate referrals for students requiring support to external agency professionals.
  • Liaise with appropriate professionals where a student is unfit to attend school. Ensuring that work is provided completed and returned. Offering continuation of support for the student. Attending meetings as required.
  • Daily administration of medication to students: both controlled drugs and prescribed medication.
  • Attendance at Open Evenings.
