Apprentice Plant Technician (Level 3)

About The Role We are looking to offer an Apprentice Plant Technician the opportunity to join our expanding Compliance and Service team based in Stevenage.We will be holding an assessment day in July 2024 and you'll need to be available to attend to progress with your application. The start date for the apprenticeship is in September 2024 and you'll need to be available to start on the programme at this point. Please see below hourly rates for the role based off age: 21 and over - £11.44 per hour18 to 20 - £8.60 per hourUnder 18 - £6.40 per hour About the roleYou will be working alongside qualified and highly experienced members of staff, many of whom would have started their careers as an Apprentice just like you. We want to support our people as much as possible, therefore if you require a more flexible working arrangement, we would be happy to discuss this with you!As the Apprentice Plant Technician, you’ll get the opportunity to: Carry out routine maintenance and service repair activities to our fleet of Plant vehicles & equipment Faults diagnose and rectify all types of mechanical and electrical faults Complete work via a PDA device to ensure daily electronic work records are up to date Undertake minor and major repair works as directed Communicate with the workshop team Ensure that all M Group Services Plant & Fleet Solutions `Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality`(SHEQ) policies and procedures are adhered to, adopting a safe method of working, logging and completing jobs on your electronic devices What you’ll bring? Effective communication skills Keen to learn with an interest in development and progression Passionate about the automotive industry Hardworking Excellent attendance and timekeeping Reliable Ability to use own initiative Must have a ‘can do’ attitude You will have a basic level of numeracy and literacy. Candidates who have not achieved these grades will be considered however you will be required to undertake Functional Skills Level 1 as part of the apprenticeship programme, which is equivalent to GCSE qualifications. You possess a high degree of manual dexterity and an interest in working with machinery Apprenticeship Development Scheme As an Apprentice within MGroup Services PFS, you will undertake both a technical programme as well as our internal EU Skills endorsed Apprenticeship Development Scheme (ADS) programme. The ADS programme is a blend of online and face to face sessions, involving soft skills development and mental health/pastoral care support.
