Position: Geo-Environmental Technician Location: Avonmouth Working Hours: Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm Salary: Up to £37,000 Are you seeking an exciting and challenging role that involves managing subsoil reuse and waste removal within the construction industry? A strong work ethic and can-do attitude are essential. Main Duties Manage and oversee extensive Geotechnical and Geoenvironmental datasets. Ensure data conforms to site-specific criteria and industry specifications. Proficiently interpret and comprehend Earthwork Specifications and Industry Standards. Supervise and manage onsite data collection. Collaborate with third-party testing facilities. Contribute to project compliance and quality teams. Schedule testing activities. Maintain accurate records. Handle procurement responsibilities. Conduct in-house sampling as required. Initial Roles and Responsibilities: This role is particularly well-suited for candidates with prior experience in a geotechnical testing capacity, although individuals with other relevant experience will also be considered. The ideal candidate should be capable of progressively taking on more technical oversight and quality assurance responsibilities for large-scale earthworks projects. The role entails capturing crucial data at key project milestones, in addition to conducting regular validation testing. Effective collaboration with site and project managers is expected. Qualifications: Minimum of a 2nd class Degree, HND, or equivalent from Higher Education in a Geo-Technical, Environmental, or Scientific discipline. Individuals with CSCS / NPORS Cards will be preferred for swift deployment to third-party sites. Consideration will also be given to candidates with WAMITAB certification. Necessary Skills: Proficient in analysing and manipulating scientific data. Ability to incorporate practical considerations of site work, testing, and sampling times into broader project objectives. Strong communication skills at all levels, from interacting with excavator operators to Chartered Environmental Consultants. Proficient in report writing. Competent in using MS Office applications.
