Job overview We are looking for a dynamic, innovative and enthusiastic individual to join our team at ESNEFT within the field of Physiotherapy. You may be an experienced band 5 who is ready to transition into a rotational band 6 post or an established Band 6 who is looking for a new challenge.The current rotations in North East Essex consist of Critical Care, Acute Respiratory Care Unit, Surgical Wards, Medical Respiratory adult and Paediatric, Oncology, General Medical wards, Elderly wards, Emergency Medicine, Stroke and Trauma & Orthopaedics at Colchester Hospital, along with community rotations in Neuro rehabilitation, MSK outpatients, Community hospitals and Community Respiratory. A rotation into the new Elective Orthopaedic centre (ESEOC) will also start when the centre opens in August 2024.All staff are expected to participate in 7 day working & work on the inpatient respiratory on-call rota.We are an integrated therapy team with Physiotherapists & Occupational Therapists that work extremely closely in integrated teams to provide excellent and rapid assessment and discharge planning to our clients. Therapy services are held in high regard within the trust.You will need to have experience in discharge planning and skills in identification of needs for adaptive equipment.The vacancy in the rotational scheme for this financial year (2024-25) is in the OP Neuro-rehabilitation team and therefore a UK driving licence and access to a vehicle that can be used for work is required. Main duties of the job You will complete competency framework to enable participation in the annual Band 6 rotational scheme. This includes rapid assessment, facilitating discharge, specialist rehabilitation, falls prevention and specialist inpatient services in Critical Care, Stroke and Neurology and Respiratory care.You will be expected to perform safe, evidenced based physiotherapeutic assessment of patients with diverse presentations and complex physical and psychological conditions, and deliver an individualised treatment programme from a range of optionsYou'll undertake comprehensive assessments of patients, including those with diverse or complex presentations, using clinical reasoning skills and manual assessment techniques to assist in diagnosis and choose from a range of treatment options to achieve the desired goal. To formulate treatment plans and recommend best course of intervention, considering patients’ personal goals and objectives, to develop comprehensive discharge plans.You will be responsible for your own caseload, and for a defined area of the service, initially with supervision of senior staff then progressing towards working without direct supervision. Supervision involves regular formal training and clinical reasoning sessions, peer review and one to one assessments. You'll be professionally and legally accountable for all aspects of your own work, including issues around consent and capacity. To manage clinical risk within own patient caseload.
