Then this could be the role for you!We are looking for a lead professional for Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS) in Hull City Council.This is a newly created role due to the decision to bring the DOLS service back in house.This is a hugely exciting opportunity for a motivated and passionate individual to recruit to and develop a new team focused on completing high quality best interests’ assessments for people who are being deprived of their liberty. The DoLS Operational Team Manager will: Lead teams of Best Interest Assessors (BIAs) and DoLS coordinators, along with section 12 doctors to ensure compliance with our responsibilities under the Mental Capacity Act, Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards, Human Rights Act, and other relevant legislationProvide strong practice leadership alongside effective management of workload and resource across the teams to ensure timely completion of assessments and management of riskWork with other agencies to ensure practice and procedures remain current and compliant, upholding the rights of people deprived of their liberty.Embed and constantly strive to improve best practice across our DoLS team and work with other internal teams to achieve best practice Living and working in Hull is a great life to live and this is an exciting opportunity to join one of our supportive, friendly, caring teams where you will be valued and work as part of team where you will receive regular supervision, have the support of your manager and colleagues and have opportunities to expand your skills and knowledge. Critical to this role will be the ability to influence, motivate and develop individual accountability and confident practice in all appropriate MCA/DOLS responsibilities.About you:You will be an experienced practitioner who will bring both practice expertise and management skills to the role. You will have an excellent knowledge of legislation and the ability to relate this to effective person-centred practice. You need to be able to supervise and support the practice of the team as well as manage performance and ensure compliance. You will have the ability to develop new processes and ensure that these are effective in meeting the statutory requirements.
