Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist (CAMHS)NHS Lanarkshire - Coathill HospitalNHS Lanarkshire presents a fantastic opportunity to join an innovative and collaborative large CAMHS service. We are looking to recruit a Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist. The post will be based at Coathill Hospital in the Airdrie Coatbridge Cumbernauld Locality CAMHS Team. The post sits within a large health board in Scotland which currently has over 70 Consultant Psychiatrists and 20 Associate Specialists and Specialty Doctors in post. The Lanarkshire service covers a total population of around 655,000. It covers a diverse geographical area with large urban populations as well as a large rural area. The CAMHS service has undergone significant recent development and enhancement. This has included the development of a Neurodevelopmental Service with multi-disciplinary clinicians from across Children’s Services and which has research links with the University of Glasgow. There have also been system redesigns to enhance patient care such as the expansion of the CAMHS Unscheduled Care Teams.The successful candidate would be joining a supportive Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatry group who are dedicated to excellent patient care. The department has a commitment to teaching and training from medical students to higher trainees and is keen to nurture Consultant Psychiatrists who are new to the team. The job is offered as a part-time post on a 6 PA basis (including up to 1 non-DCC).The University of Glasgow enjoys close links with NHS Lanarkshire, and our medical students benefit greatly from the excellent educational opportunities provided by the board in both primary and secondary care.
