Senior Quality Engineer£30,000 per annumMonday to Friday 8am until 4pmDaventry, NorthantsPermanentOur Daventry based client are looking to recruit a permanent Senior Quality Engineer. They are one of the UK's leading Automotive OE small / medium volume component and accessory parts specialists.Senior Quality Engineer Responsibilities:Support the management of all quality-related issues within the manufacturing & goods receiving teams (e.g. internal, supplier, customer and customer warranty)Be instrumental in the identification of defect root cause and instigate permanent corrective actions for product quality issues. Routine use of Global 8D processWork with internal and external stakeholders to resolve quality issues that arise as quickly and efficiently as possible to prevent compromising quality and safety standardsCarry out / assist staff members with product and process auditsEnsure control plans and associated documentation are implemented and maintainedIs empowered to stop production in the event of unacceptable goods/processes, identify the resolution actions needed in order to re-start production.Ensure compliance and assist with adherence to/ auditing of the Business Management system including (TS16949/ISO9001, ISO14001, OHSAS18001 or ISO45001) where requiredAssist with training of quality awarenessEnsure that all areas of the business are working to the SOPs and identify where actions need to be taken to resolve. Periodically report to management on the topicAssist with first off sample approvalsPromote the use of customer preferred techniques for APQP & continuous improvement such as Six-Sigma, Poka-Yoke (Error Proofing), and Measurement System AnalysisParticipate in cross-functional teams in the development of new products or changes related to current products in meeting customer requirementsParticipate in the development and refinement of Process FMEA's (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis)Lead process improvement activitiesWrite reports as required and present progress at the relevant meetingsProduce high quality written reports and be confident to give presentationsAct as mentor to other Quality Department personnelAct as a single point of contact with supplier quality/ management contactsPositively develops the working relationships with the supply baseActively works to resolve issues relating to supplier non-conforming material in a timely manner.Communicate efficiently and effectively at all levels within our clients businessAssertive, resilient and welcomes changeEngages interest and participation of others and has a collaborative approach to working with othersProactively contributes to the teamActively committed to the teams' developmentShows moral courage, openness, integrity and honesty in all interactionsSenior Quality Engineer Skills & Attributes:Self-motivated and self-starting outlookStrong knowledge of APQP, PPAP, FMEA processesKnowledge of TS16949 and ISO9000 and their relevanceUnderstanding of ISO14001, OHSAS18001, ISO45001Awareness of measurement techniquesAwareness of engineering drawings (Datum structures, GD&T) and their interpretationAwareness of a range of manufacturing processesAbility to work in a diverse and dynamic environmentGood communication and interpersonal skillsStrong Negotiation skillsDeals effectively with competing prioritiesAbility to present data effectivelyStrong Problem-solving and analytical skillsAwareness of Health and Safety practicesTeam working/ strong interpersonal skillsKeen to mentor others and share professional experiencesUnderstanding of cost and financial impactsAbility to work on own initiativeGood understanding of customer deliverables and the impact of failure/cost of poor qualityPlease apply in the first instance with a copy of your CV.CPDaventryThe Recruitment Co. is an equal opportunities employer and we're committed to diversity and inclusion in the workplace
