Counselling Tutor

You will be a motivated, passionate and dedicated Counselling Tutor, able to deliver our BTEC Level 5 Professional Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling, supervise our students and deliver mini CPD courses.

You will work 37.5 hours per week, hours are flexible. This will include two weekends a month. Main hours are between 10am - 4pm with occasional evening work between 6pm - 8pm, with no Bank holidays to work. There will be the option to work some hours fromhome.

Role Requirements

  • A registered (NCS/ BACP) therapist.
  • 2 years post qualifying experience.
  • Knowledgeable on counselling theory and experiential delivery.
  • Experience of facilitating/ teaching groups.
  • Able to provide two references.
  • Have or be prepared to have an enhanced DBS check for adults and children.
  • Understand the Supporting Minds ethos.
  • Attend team meetings once a month on a Monday (2 hours).
  • Able to use your own initiative and work autonomously.
  • A minimum of a PTTLS/ L3 Education and Training qualification although we can provide this to you.
  • Be confident in being responsible for your own teaching space and problem solving independently.

Role Responsibilities (not limited to)

  • Delivering the BTEC Level 5 syllabus to up to 4 groups, including weekend work. Although you won’t start with 4 groups, these will be increased over the coming months.
  • Assessing and marking learners work.
  • Offering study support across the SM network.
  • Speaking to new potential students about the course and interviewing.
  • Preparing teaching resources.
  • Offer group supervision via Zoom one evening a month.
  • Offer 1:1 supervision to SM students (not your own groups).
  • Deliver mini CPD via Zoom one evening a month on topics that you’re most passionate about.
  • There may be the possibility of client work (time permitting).
  • Attendance at monthly team meetings via Zoom.
  • Flexible working hours to suits yours and SM’s needs.

Supporting Minds operates in the talking therapy field and offers counselling to clients in the Lincoln area and online, and provides training to those looking to qualify as therapeutic counsellors across the country.
