Packaging Designer

**Main duties

  • Operate CAD systems to produce bespoke structural corrugated packaging solutions.
  • Design mock-ups and advise customers on the best potential solutions.
  • To ensure customer enquiries and sample requests are handled professionally.
  • To provide a cohesive channel of communication between the Sales & Operational team members
  • To ensure that all information issued to the factory is in line with the customers’ requirements.
  • Produce accurate drawings of packaging solutions for use by our customers and operations.
  • Produce samples for customer evaluation and approval.
  • Effectively operate the selected structural design system.
  • Liaise with other departments and keep customer informed at all stages.
  • Attend customer visits to review current corrugated packaging/identify new business.
  • Place orders for the necessary tooling for production requirements and liaise with suppliers.
  • Assist with the production of marketing material and content.
  • Assist with customer workshops and presentations.
  • General office administration duties.

Skills and experience they are looking for include

  • A creative thinker who can turn ideas into physical solutions
  • Experience of dealing with design tools such as ArtiosCAD or similar would be an advantage
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud Products - Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign etc
  • An understanding of factory manufacturing capabilities and systems
  • Good communication and presentation skills
  • An ability to co-ordinate multiple projects
  • A general knowledge and use of computer systems and PC software
  • Ability to multi-task and work to tight deadlines driven by customer demands
  • A driving licence is required for this position
