Applications are invited from PIP 2 qualified Detective Constables and transferees for the role of Detective Constable in the Major Organised Crime Proactive Team based at Staffordshire Police within the Specialist Crime Command. Current core working pattern is a shift system aligned to the Force corporate shift pattern, however, there is an expectation that applicants are prepared to be flexible to work beyond those hours if required.The MOCD Proactive Teams are based at Burslem (Stoke-on-Trent) and Rugeley Police stations and cover all of the Force area.Working within a highly motivated team, this is an exciting opportunity for those who have an interest in proactively investigating Serious Organised Crime utilising covert policing tactics as well as traditional methods of investigation. Applicants should have experience of investigating Serious and Complex crime, ideally having experience of working within proactive investigations. You will have an understanding of how intelligence forms the basis of the covert response to threats and informs proactive policing methods with the aim of tackling criminality that presents the highest threats to the communities of Staffordshire. This role will also involve working with other law enforcement agencies and partners.PIP2 qualified detective constables in Major & Organised Crime currently receive an additional £ annual payment, spread over 12 months, subject to annual review by the Chief constable from 1 August, following approval by the Executive Management Board to implement Targeted Variable Payments (TVP).TVP is a national scheme open to all forces, and can be made in a small number of cases, including to retain staff where there is a critical skills gap or because of the hard-to-fill nature of the role.
