Job Title: FLT Driver (Counter balance) Location: Newport Salary: £25,345 (basic) plus £7,096 (Shift Allowance) = total £32,441 per annum, After probation, this will increase to £29,359 (basic) plus £7,706 (Shift Allowance) = total £37,066 per annum Hours: Full time, 3 shift pattern mornings, Afternoons and nights Days Monday - Thursday 06:00 - 14:00 Friday 06:00 - 11:00 Afternoons Monday - Thursday 14:00 - 22:00 Friday 11:00 - 16:00 Nights Monday - Thursday 22:00 - 06:00 Friday 16:00 - 21:00 Here at The Recruitment Co we are currently recruiting a FLT (Counter balance) driver to work for a company based in Newport. To be able to effectively operate a Fork Truck in order to deliver product to the haulage contractor and maintain a safe and tidy working environment within warehouse. There are three main roles which the Forklift truck Driver will carry out during the working shift. 1. Take Off Line 2. Loading 3. Marshalling Main Responsibilities To move pallets from factory output rollers and placing in warehouse. To ensure stock is rotated. To determine the storage of previous pallets stored in the warehouse and ensure all space is optimised to full capacity. To be able to interpret the scanner to screen and ensure stock is located correctly. Check that bays contain pallets that are shown on computer screen. Ensure pallets are in a good condition prior to storage and quarantine pallets below acceptable standard i.e., poor presentation and condition / broken pallets. Use computer to load vehicles. Ensuring customer requirements are understood and implemented from the computer screen accurately. Scan and load pallets onto the trailer using the pallet label bar codes to ensure correct quantities are on the vehicle. To carry out a loaded quantity check and ensure correct pallets are loaded. To ensure all haulage contractors are following transport drivers' safety procedure. Carry out daily checks on fork truck at start and during shift. Checks to include brakes / tyres / mast chains etc as outlined within the logbook. Ensure loads at loaded and strapped safely. Report health and safety incidents and participate in behavioural safety activities. Required Experience Full RTITB licence (Counterbalance) - compulsory Infrared Radio Frequency (SAP & Carpal) trained operator - would be a distinct advantage. Computer literacy - Essential Previous experience of working within a logistics or warehouse environment Ability to re-configure scanners and computers periodically. Self-motivator with excellent work ethic and keen eye for detail Flexible approach to working hours - essential.
