About us

My Life is a charity providing individualised support to a wide range of people in the North West. We are seeking an exceptional personal assistant/support worker to work alongside our team to provide personalised support to a young man with complex needs based in Burnley. The role will enable you to develop a wide range of skills which will enable this young man to live the best life possible. From your perspective it will enhance your career, you will gain experience working with an individual with mental health, learning difficulties and autism. We provide excellent terms and conditions for an outstanding individual.

What you'll need to succeed

In order to succeed, you will be confident, kind-hearted and wanting to make a positive difference to this young man’s life, enhancing his day and enabling him to access the community. Ideally, you will have experience working as a Personal Assistant/Support Worker ideally with having worked with individuals with complex health and social care needs. You will be self-motivated, flexible and have the ability to use your own initiative whilst being caring and sensitive to the needs of others. You will hold a full driving licence. The position is part time and may include some evenings/weekends.

The salary on offer is up to £12.31 per hour (dependent upon experience) plus a competitive benefits package.

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Burnley, Lancashire: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

  • Support Work: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

  • Driving Licence (preferred)
