As a Commercial Pricing Manager at AXA UK, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping our clear strategic vision, leveraging our current future technologies and data resources. You’ll have the opportunity to contribute and manage technical pricing analysts to establish greater pricing sophistication, making our commercial lines of business more customer centric and data driven.In this influential position, you’ll also be collaborating with key stakeholders at all levels to encourage greater adoption of technical and statistical approaches to derive, track, and monitor price and drive forward the right decisions for a range of commercial products. You’ll also support the continuous improvement of our new rating engines, collaborating with other areas of the business to ensure that the tools used provide the confidence in delivering robust and accurate technical pricing to our customers.At AXA we work smart, empowering our people to balance their time between home and the office in a way that works best for them, their team and our customers. You'll work at least 40% of your week away from home, at an AXA office nearest to your location.What you’ll be doing: Act as an active member of the commercial lines transformation project, contributing to the development of the next generation of platforms, data structures and modelling systems.Ensure high quality completion of data and pricing tasks to appropriate standards and timelines with a focus, delivery drives profitable growth.Use the insight gleaned from existing data to help set the agenda and review other available data to augment existing data to find new commercial insights.Promote innovative methods, such as machine learning and open source coding languages, to support the increased use of external data and enhanced insights from the data lake, actively sharing best practices.Provide scope for individuals to develop and expand their formal people management skills, as well as coaching and mentoring skills of a wider pool of analysts.Proactively foster collaboration with underwriters, claims teams, finance, and other analytics teams to ensure comprehensive support across the business.Contribute to a variety of ongoing work, projects, and ad-hoc requests to support well-rounded development and a stimulating work environment.Due to the number of applications we expect to receive for this role, we reserve the right to close this advert earlier than the listed closing date to ensure we’re able to effectively manage interest. If you’re excited by this job and the prospect of working at AXA but you’re not sure you tick every box, we’d still encourage you to apply.What we’re looking for: Detailed understanding of technical pricing and problem solving.Strong numeracy and reasoning skills supported by strong programming skills such as SAS, R, Python.Knowledge of Willis Towers Watson pricing tools, Emblem & Radar would be an advantage.Graduate calibre, preferably with specific education in mathematics/statistics or related discipline.Desirable to be progressing in an actuarial or data science discipline, or eligible by virtue of work experience.Ability to communicate complex quantitative analysis in a clear, precise, and actionable manner. Capable abilities, to respond well to unfamiliar problems and resolve ambiguity with simple solutions.Strong influencing and negotiation skills, confidence to professionally challenge across the business, with the persistence to lead ideas through to implementation.
