About this opportunity

We are looking for enthusiastic and innovative colleague to join the Learning Improvement Service where you will be working with schools, children, their families, and other professionals to ensure all children and young people can access education provision.

The post holders will be responsible for fulfilling the local authorities’ statutory duties in relation to elective home education. This may include:

  • Support families by provide advice and support to those children and young people who are educating their children at home.
  • Making appropriate referrals to Children Missing Education (CME) when required to support a return to school or other appropriate educational provision.
  • Provide advice to schools, governing bodies and families in relation to Elective Home Education.
  • Play a full part in the wider SEND and Inclusion Team including providing advice and linking to other agencies.
  • Where appropriate undertaking Early Help Assessments and participating in Early Help processes directly or through the provision of advice.

DBS

This role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (ROA) 1974 and requires an enhanced DBS check with a children’s barred list check.
